ENG SOONOkay, one last post before i REALLY switch over to weebly.And surprise! Its gonna be about OBS.It wasnt as bad as i thought it would be, really.Because i didnt really go there with expectations.I knew that if i thought too much into it, something bad will happen e.g. falling sickSo i didnt exactly go there with a positive mindset, but not with a negative one either.But i regret to say i thought too much into the high element, so i didnt do it.I mean, only about 6 people could get on it at any one time, and each person took an average of 20 mins, and there were like 30 people, and many wanted to go on the med, including me, so i had lots of time to think about what would happen once i'm on it. And then i suddenly got this wave of nausea then i decided, heck, i dont want to do it. So i didnt. But i'm proud to say that Jetty Jumping was so much better. Because the everybody was co-operate and courageous, and it was quick.AND I'M DAMN PROUD OF AMLA. WOOH!~ She managed to do it! Yay!Oh i just realised to mention the people in Eng Soon Watch ONE :)They are the brave funny memorable kiddos that make up Eng Soon;AmlaRegineClareAlyssaPriyaSarah T.Sarah B.AishKar YeeYi QingNishanNiveethaSindieJoanneYOURS TRULY :)And finally, our mentor, friend and instructor, Kiah :)Eng Soon totally 'painted the town red', haha.I think we were the most enthu watch around, we kept singing wherever we went, be it our Eng Soon Cheer, or the beer bottle song (which drove Regine totally nutty).I think there were many points where our group did exceedingly well, and some points where we disppointed Kiah (shucks, i was totally the Day 2 I/C?), but overall, i feel that as Eng Soon, we managed to overcome these odds and adversities and embark on our own Outward Bound Journey. I'm pretty sure that everybody left with a stronger desire to manage their own life and bring out the best in themselves.Anyway, on the first day, everybody was awkward around each other, because we didnt know each other that well. So it was just like sticking to our pairs and whatever. But being Eng Soon, we gradually gained spirit and lame, sick and gory jokes started spewing from each other's mouth. even pick-up lines, haha :)We did trust fall, and i think that made everybody considerably more comfortable around each other, because anybody knows that the name 'Trust Fall' suggests Trust has to be present for one abandon all fears and simply fall into the hands of 'strangers'. And that, marked the start of our 5 days.Anyway, i got closer to a few others besides Amla (lucky table mate! :)) and i found out that there was ALOT of ex-Rafflesians in our watch!RegineClareMeSarah B.Yi QingAlyssa6 out of 15, thats practically 1/3, can you imagine!Anyway i didnt know Regine was from Raffles, i totally got a shock when she came down wearing the Raffles Grad Tee. Then it was her turn to get a shock when she found out i was from Raffles too. :)But she was from 6G, then i'm from 6C, so yeah, its pretty normal to not know each other, Yellow+Blue and Red+Green are always seperated. :(But then Clare was from 6D, then the first question she asked me at OBS was: 'Do you stil keep in contact with Gulshan?' Then i suddenly felt guilty, cos' i had meant to kept in contact with her (we used to be very close), but i guess we just drifted apart.But anyway! Regine IS THE FUNNIEST person on Earth, especially her reaction to the beer bottle song, and when i used her 1.5 l bottle to smack Amla's butt and whatever. HAHA. She's so cute!Anyway, carrying tent during trekking is THE WORST. I almost gave up as well when Amla had abit of difficulty breathing, but aiyah, just ping la, i thought, so i ping-ed, and i was UBER glad when we reached the public camp.Throughout the 4 days i shared tent with Amla and Sarah Teo, but Niveetha sneaked in on the 3rd and 4th night to sleep with us, and talked nonsense into the dead of the night. It was damn funny, because Niveetha is a funny person by nature, and everybody always laughs at her jokes :DKayaking was fun! We saw jellyfish and all that, and i had to sit behind Amla and paddle and rudder and whatnot, because Amla was lighter and whatever. And Amla totally made me annoyed on that day, because whenever we rafted, she didnt help to pull the kayaks close together, and the people in the other Kayak was not co-operating as well, and i had to use all my arm strength to keep the two kayaks together, in the midst of incoming tides! And it was VERY VERY difficult, because me and Amla were near the front of the raft. Terrible lah. And i think at that time all i was thinking of was 'Thank god i play the trombone, then got muscles'. HAHA. Ironic lor. Because i was thinking of Band when the rest of the band were IN band. And the sec 3s were OUTWARD BOUND. :)Okay whatever, i dont know if you get the irony.But otherwise, Kayaking was definitely the HIGHLIGHT. Because of our accomplishment; 12-13 km around Pulau Ubin in 4 hours when the average time other groups took was 8-10! :) WOOHOO~ We did it! Envy us, please :)And its all thanks to Alyssa and Priya and Elin and all the other Sea-Ex leaders for being AWESOME and EFFICIENT and ENCOURAGING and POSITIVE and DETERMINED. :)And i was totally glad when i got the White Dry-Fit OBS Tee, it was significant moment; i was part of the OBS Alumnus, graduated, got the cert., to signify my completion of the basic skills of the OBS Course in the Campus. From then on, it was the beginning of MY OWN journey. :)Okay.I'm heading down to Bras Basah now to get Pop Scores, books and magazines.And then tomorrow theres results checking the whole day until 3, -shudder-.I think (pause) I DID WELL!Must be positive, even though deep down i fear getting crappy results.I know how my maths and sciences are.I hope for my languages to do well!And zomg, after that is band.I have to BRING THE TROMBONE TO SCHOOL TOMORROW. AND MY CLASS IS ON THE 3RD FLOOR OF THE BLOCK SITUATED ON HIGHER GROUND.AND I HAVE TO USE THE ROTUNDA TO GET UP THERE AND DOWN.AHAHHAHAHAHHACelebration!But other than that, i'm looking forward to playing the trombone again; because Monday is sectionals, probably means lots of playing :)SIYING, PLEASE GET WELL SOON!
